2007     Winery : Antiyal

Antiyal – A  Proprietary Blend Dry Red Table wine from Maipo, Chile

This red Blend is made up of 52% Carmenere, 25% Syrah, and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon. A  glass-coating opaque purple color, it proffers a brooding bouquet of  mineral, scorched earth, herbs, smoked meat, and blueberry. This leads to a dense, savory, structured, full-flavored offering that will unwind for several more years and provide pleasure through 2027.

Bottling Antiyal

admin

foto134

We bottled on Saturday 4 December and today Tuesday 7th. On Saturday we did our Antiyal (only 3.954 bottles this year), this is the result of the loss from the earthquake, so very little wine, but a terrific vintage, and 700 bottles of our new Antiyal Carmenere, a new blend of Carmenere 95% and 5 % Cabernet sauvignon. So this year very little wine, but great for those who manage to acquire it!!! Today we continue with Kuyen,  hope the good vibes are with us today so all goes smooth!!

Spring in Antiyal

admin

Friends,

foto084We have been participating in wine shows in NY, Boston and Brasil, and working our ‘promotions’ some. We hope this will be good for getting out and showing the wines a little more.

In these times, we are about to bottle our 2009 vintage soon in December, probably Saturday 4 of December, and Tuesday 7 of December, both fruit days in the biodynamic calendar.

I am including some photos up of the flowers we get in the vineyards now, I hope you like them.

Oh and we are making a facebook page for Antiyal by popular demand. I shall just have to learn to use it and we are almost there!!

Please check back in a few days, it will be linked here and searchable under “Antiyal”.

Harvest 2010

admin

Friends we had a very great Harvest, but one that with us all very tired. You can see some photos of Harvest, crush moving barrels to put new wine in etc in the photo gallery below.

Many thanks to the whole team, Ramon Gonzales, Ramon Sanchez, Ramon Rubio  ( the Ramones) Pablo Yañez and  friends and all who helped, William that came from California, Christian from Colombia.

Well on Monday may 31 we had the visit of Rene Piamonte our biodinamic consultant who comes ones a year to teach us a little each time, so you can see some photos of our farm day, where we made preps, like 503 with camomile flowers, also the 506 with dandelion and also the 505  prep with oak bark, we are happy as Its the first time we make these last three preps locally with our own flowers and products.

Now is the time we put together our compost, with all the left overs from winemaking, the  stems, the skins, and the manure from our own animals, this is the only way we fertilize, so all comes from inside our farms.

We are also now putting in our compost made last year (2009) which has a year, now we are opening the soil and putting the compost in, for afterwords sowing our flowers in between our vines.

The work in the farm never stops.

We are also preparing some orders, very busy labelling and I am happy to tell you we participated in the HONG KONG Vinexpo with the Renaissance des Appellations group and  our friends from Hong Kong , Louise and Stuart showed our wines there. Thanks so much.

High Praise for Global Vineyard Chilean Wines
Antiyal 2007 | 92+ points
“Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of blackberry and cherry preserves, smoky herbs. Juicy, sharply defined
red and dark berry flavors are complemented by cracked pepper, cinnamon and a kiss of candied flowers. Seductive, open-knit and delicious now.”

Kuyen 2007 | 91 points
“High-pitched red and dark berry aromas are complemented by deeper notes of subtle oak spice and lico-
rice. Offers lush black raspberry and boysenberry flavors braced by zesty minerality. This suave, open-knit blend finishes with strong cut and clarity”
